What is this?
Les is going to the Camp on Saturday 14th July. He is continuing with the Common 5 Lined Skink, Orchid and Bumble-bee (probably) Field Surveys. The Surveys should take around 1.5 – 2.00 hours so should be able to hike part of the camp with some hilly sections (or not). He leaves St. Mikes in the Grove at 8:45 am sharp arriving at the camp around 9:15. For anyone driving directly to the camp, the gate is open drive to the main parking lot. If the ranger (Doug Winch) is on duty let him know you are with Les. Wear long sleeved shirt and long pants, hiking boots, head cover. Bring water and a snack and an interested friend. He has room for three if you would like to carpool.
The last count confirmed 114 Lady Slipper Orchid Stems (end of 2018 field count) and 753 Showy (Queens) Lady Slipper Stems (end of 2018 count). Start of Grass Pink Orchids at 142 stems .
